One of my favorite reasons for hiking is to get my heart pumping. Before all the housing construction at the base of the north side of Badger Mountain, there were a few trails you could take that are very steep. This is one of the old trails. (there is no access anymore because of private property and houses). I could usually get to the top in 20 minutes or less if I hiked at a good clip. My heart would race into the 170+ bpm range. Now, there are other options on Badger, I just need to push a little to get the heartrate up!
