A crucial step was made recently in efforts to gain public access to the top of Rattlesnake Mountain. While I have a Rattlesnake hike listed, the summit of the “The tallest treeless mountain in the world” is currently closed to public access. The state recently okayed some funding to try and purchase some property from a farming family which may make this mountain accessible to non-motorized traffic.
