Talk about busy! The Canyon Trail was packed with hikers Tuesday evening as people enjoyed the somewhat cooling temperatures and the longest day of the year.
We had the opportunity to invite two other families to join our family for a hike up the hill, we decided on the Sagebrush Trail. It was a wonderful time as we had hikers in our group from age 3 to nearly 50. I was impressed at how well the young kids did. They were excited to hustle up the hill. The hike up the Sagebrush Trail was nice because it was a little less crowded than the Canyon Trail. We had a nice, leisurely hike and got to the top around 8:45.
There were many people up top waiting for the sunset. A few fires in the Columbia Basin made for some beautiful colors. It seems there are even more spectacular colors after sundown as the clouds lit up in beautiful pinks and purples.
Thanks to family and friends for an enjoyable Summer Solstice evening on Badger Mountain!
