I wasn’t sure how my partially bald back tire would fare on the snowy trail up Badger Mountain but I decided to give it a try. I parked at Dallas Road to head up the Skyline Trail.
I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. I had to stop once because of loss of traction but was able to pedal up most of the way even though there was packed snow on the trail all the way up. There were several people out hiking on the mountain, most had some sort of hiking poles or traction devices on their shoes/boots (a good idea).
I took a long route, going up the Skyline Trail off Dallas Road to the top. I took a moment to take a picture at the overlook at the communications tower. It was a beautiful view with the snowy-white landscape.
I rode down the Sagebrush Trail then through neighborhoods to the Country Ridge neighborhood and up a newer gravel road that led back to the Skyline Trailhead. I nice ride on a beautiful day!
