Right now is probably the best time of year to see the beautiful wildflowers that bloom every spring in the desert landscape of the Columbia Basin.
I was hoping to see some colors on my Badger Mountain hike up the Canyon Trail and I was not disappointed. The first great feature of this hike is the green carpet that covers the whole mountain.
No matter whether you’re hiking the Canyon Trail, the Sagebrush Trail, the Skyline Trail or even the Badger Flats Trail, you’ll see the renewed green of spring mixed with beautiful yellows, whites, purples, and blues of wildflowers!
Make sure you take the trails all the way to the top of Badger Mountain as there are different flower varieties at different elevations.
Also, the wind exposed areas cause the flowers to grow in different ways.
The best way I know to tell you about what is out there is through pictures! Enjoy the pictures!
