I don’t know if it was spring fever or the work party plan but today was one of the busiest traffic days I’ve seen on Badger Mountain. Friends of Badger were busy with trail maintenance.
Trailmaster Jim Langdon was driving the gravel cart and others were spreading the fresh topping on the Canyon Trail.
This trail maintenance is an ongoing project. More work parties are planned in the weeks ahead. Check here if you would like to help!
The other great thing about today’s hike was the number of hikers getting outside to “Enjoy the Beauty That Surrounds the Columbia Basin.”
There were dozens of hikers enjoying the Canyon Trail, Sagebrush Trail and Skyline Trail.
Another great thing about the hikers I spotted on the trail was the variety.
Young to old, different abilities, different fitness levels, varying levels of experience (I even talked with some first timers!). There were several people who said they were training for the Badger Mountain Challenge.
