When we were on our Summer Solstice Hike the other day, I noticed an old familiar friend that brought with it fond memories and a realization.
The old familiar friend was the delicate, lavender shaded Mariposa Lilly.
It reminded me of my mother. She loves Mariposa Lillies. Not just the beauty of the little 3 petal flower but the message the flower provides.
The beauty of the Mariposa Lilly is hard to match. Yet, it blooms in the desert! A vibrant, delicate flower that overcomes hot, dry conditions to show us an example of endurance and fortitude even in difficult conditions.
What an example this hearty lilly gives us of overcoming obstacles to bloom and beautify our desert.
I’ve come to realize I owe my love, admiration and respect for the beauty that surrounds us to my mother. She instilled this quality in me at a young age and it lives on today.
I hope you enjoy these pictures I took and thank you! Love, Paul
