I got back up on Badger Mountain the other day as I had missed hiking there for awhile. It was a beautiful early morning hike and the trail was already bustling with activity. I got to the top to find Doug taking a breather. I also saw Max and another “seasoned” fellow who remarked, “This must be old geezer day on the mountain”.

We had a good laugh but I took pleasure in the comment as it is wonderful to be able to have the health and fitness level to be able to enjoy hiking Badger Mountain.
I enjoyed seeing the multiple people who were enjoying the mountain on a weekday morning.
It was wonderful to be on the Canyon Trail and see all the wonderful colors that are still in bloom. I saw yellows, greens, lavenders and even a beautiful, purple blooming tumbleweed. The flora is in stark contrast to the tans and browns that bring their own special kind of beauty to our desert terrain. I think I will be up on the mountains more often now with the cooler weather, I encourage all the “Old Geezers” to take the leap and hike your way to better health!
