I was in a hurry to get on the Badger Mountain Canyon Trail before sunrise this morning and I got the consequences of being rushed with a longer hike than planned.
I wasn’t too bummed about it though as I had the time to walk home (an extra 4+ miles) and enjoy the morning stroll after I realized my keys were locked in my truck on the front seat!
I did get up on Badger in time for a beautiful sunrise and to the top in my average ~22 minutes for a good workout. As I was taking pictures on my way up, I dropped a glove. Fortunately, it was there where I found it where I dropped it on the way back down (I know, a comedy of errors!).
As I got to the top, I had a great view with the foggy haze hanging over the town. I saw 4 or 5 other hikers on the mountain but it wasn’t a real busy day.
After I got off the mountain, I had a good walk along Keene Road then down the hill over the Yakima River and up on the railroad tracks by the Chamna Natural Preserve then back home. It was an enjoyable walk, even though longer than I planned!
