It was a brisk morning on Badger Mountain. I decided to try and beat the sunrise with a loop up the Sagebrush Trail and down the Canyon Trail. I beat the sunrise but the wind beat me! It was howling and drying out my airway. But, even with the headwind, I got up to the top on the Sagebrush Trail in about 30 minutes.
I plan to get a wind speed meter to measure the gusts that can nearly knock you over on the windiest days.
I still had a beautiful view of the sunrise. Not as colorful as some but still nice.
I only saw 1 other person on my way up, a couple more on the way down. There was a nice cloud cap on top of Rattlesnake Mountain. It was a pretty rough day but, with the threat of snow tonight, I wanted to get a fix in. I’m kind of hoping for some snow so I can go back up tomorrow on a blanket of white.
