I’m having to get up earlier to beat the sunrise, must mean spring is on the way! I decided to do the long loop to get a decent workout, I did get up on the hill before the sunrise and got to see the beautiful colors. It was a little chilly but I decided to climb with purpose and build up some good body heat. I did the long loop that is a total of about 6.6 miles: Up the Sagebrush trail, west on the service road down to the Skyline trailhead at Dallas Road. Up the Skyline Trail to the top and then back down the Canyon Trail. As the sun rose, it took a little of the chill off but brought up some fog over the Tri-Cities. I got to the top on the Sagebrush Trail in about 32 minutes, I was pretty happy with that. I saw a few other hikers today braving the cool morning. On the way back down the Canyon Trail, I got a nice view of a beautiful bird on a sign.A great early morning adventure on Badger Mountain!
