I decided to ride my mountain bike up the Skyline Trail on Badger Mountain today and dodge the scattered raindrops. I’m sure glad I did as I got my first glimpse of the blooming Lupine along the trail!
Since the Skyline Trail winds along the south side of the mountain, it gets more sun so the lupine are opening and showing their beautiful blue/purple colors!
It was a little wet but an enjoyable ride as the moisture will continue to bring us more desert wildflowers on the trails around the Columbia Basin.
P.S. If you haven’t looked already, please check my blog posting seeking help identifying some flowers. I am compiling a brochure with pictures and identities of many of the desert wildflowers in our area so you can identify them as well. Just reply to the post if you have any ideas or if you would like to be notified when the brochure is available. Happy hiking! Paul
