What a joy it was to take a hike up Badger Mountain with several young women from our church.
It was called a Virtues Hike and one of the leaders shared a thought about virtues with the young women after we got to the top.
She related the difficult hike up the mountain to the difficulty we can face being virtuous when many people around us shun standards and virtues as old-fashioned, boring or outdated.
The young women talked about one of the most important aspects of virtue, chastity.
They then signed their name on a gold banner as a commitment to a virtuous life. A great message and a heart-warming experience to see those standards are still valued in a world that sometimes seems so confused.
I also pointed out some of the flowers along our hike with Balsamroot, Purse’s Milk Vetch, Lupine and more beauty lining the trails.
