I was feeling a little head cold but didn’t want to miss a day outside on my bicycle so I headed down the street for a mountain bike ride on the single-track trails of the Chamna Natural Preserve. It was a fun ride as I dodged between the thick brush and tree canopy. I stopped at the river a few times and was always greeted by the flutter of wings as ducks took to flight.
I found a couple of treasures as I rode, one was this interesting cage-like plant remnant along the trail.
Riding in Chamna is so much fun. There are trails winding all over the place with tight corners, open straightaways and dips. I took several side trails that led to the edge of the Yakima River.
At one stop, I saw some interesting ice formations on brush along the bank.
I little chilly but I rode fairly hard so it was a good workout. A great day outdoors at the Chamna Natural Preserve along the Yakima River in Richland!
