Hi Paul, just wondering if the gap hike is any “snakier” than the rest of the hiking areas…A friend & I are kind of spooked after some comments from my husband saying it’s a pretty notorious place for “buzztails.” Would appreciate your take on this.Thank you, Linda
Linda, I don’t think it is any less “Snakier” than any of the other hikes. The only places I’ve seen rattlers is on the Rattlesnake Preserve Hike and on Badger Mountain years ago. I think it has more to do with the time of day you hike. I think I usually miss the “buzztails” because I tend to hike early in the morning before the heat of the the sun brings out the snakes to warm themselves.
