Even though there are grey skies, there are still some great ways to lift your spirits. One is to get some endorphins circulating with a nice, vigorous hike. From the top of any of the hills around the Tri-Cities, you’ll find a great view. You can bundle up, in layers if needed and you’ll work up some body heat with a good, brisk walk or hike. Endorphins are substances created by our own bodies which produce a natural high and they help regulate emotions. Activities can promote endorphin production and help us deal with stress, pain and even depression. We’ll have more on endorphins at hiketricities.com in the future. For now, get out and enjoy the beauty that surrounds us and get your own natural high!
Whether its the Canyon, Sagebrush or Skyline trail on Badger Mountain, Red Mountain , Rattlesnake Preserve, or Candy Mountain, any one of these will put you above the fog and basking in the sunshine. Here are a couple more pictures and details from my sunrise hike on Candy Mountain.
A Helpful Nudge to Be More Active!
I saw this poster at my workplace the other day in the stairway. There are quotes posted throughout the stairways to encourage people to be more fit. I really liked this sign and hope you will get a chuckle and maybe a little motivation out of it!
I got a cool new app to make collages and I wanted to try it out! The results are above from my 28 hikes in 31 days blog post! Click to enlarge.
I took a hike the other day on CANDY Mountain! It’s been a while since I’ve been up there but it was so enjoyable that I’ve been up there twice more in the last couple of weeks
Get out and explore and you might even come across some wildlife like I did the other day at Amon Creek Preserve!
